THEME: TRADITIONAL CULTURE
The legacy of Antonio Fraguas

Our school is named after Antonio Fraguas, a renowned figure of Galician culture commemorated this year on GALICIAN LITERATURE DAY ( Día das Letras Galegas 2019). We have accordingly decided to open a window on the world with our first mail art call, in order to promote artistic and cultural communication and bearing in mind the educational framework in which it is going to take place, as part of the activities of our Cultural Week.

The proposed theme for this mail art call is traditional culture, which will give participants the opportunity to highlight the foundations of their culture and traditions, thus acknowledging the artists’ own roots, the importance of heritage and the respect for the elderly, who are the treasurers of popular wisdom.

All those who wish to do so are welcome to use in their artwork those aspects of the legacy of Antonio Fraguas which they render particularly interesting: anthropology, ethnography, cultural heritage, etc. More information is available on these links.

Technique: Free.
One work per artist.
MAXIMUM size: A4.
Deadline: March 21st, 2019.
No jury.
No prize.
No returns.
Artist’s name will be written on the back of each work.
